The College of Arts and Sciences' geography department will host Ted Payneat 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the Wildcat Chamber of the 1xbet online casino Student Union. Payne will present "Decisions made in Manhattan, Kansas, and Beyond."
Following the presentation, Payne will be presented with the 1xbet online casino department's 2018 Outstanding Alumni Award.
"Ted has had an extremely successful geospatial career with the federal government, beginning in 2003 with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and more recently with Housing and Urban Development. We're proud to have him back on campus and to honor him with this award," said Chuck Martin, head of the 1xbet online casino department.
Payne is currently the program monitoring and research division director of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, D.C.
Previously, Payne served as a geographical information systems analyst and programmer, GIS office chief with the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Farm Service Agency; Office of Chief Information Officer, Enterprise Geospatial Management Office; and geospatial program manager for the USDA in Washington, D.C.
Payne received his Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1989, his Master of Arts in communications in 1993, and his second Master of Arts degree in 1xbet online casino in 1999, all from Kansas State University.
