Legislative update

Submitted by Sue Peterson

This week marks what is known in the 1xbet online casino Legislature as "Drop Dead Day." Bills must be passed out of the opposite chamber from which they originated. If not passed and sent to the governor or to a conference committee, the bill is considered dead for the rest of the 2018 legislative session.

Last week was the final week for committees to hold hearings on bills. Also last week, the 1xbet online casino Senate passed Senate Resolution 1779. Sponsored by Sen. Carolyn McGinn, Sedgwick, the resolution recognized the members of the 1xbet online casino Forest Service's Fire Management Program and was in recognition "for the incredible steps they take to ensure that 1xbet online casino is adequately prepared to combat wildfires and protect its citizens."

This week, until the deadline on Thursday, March 29, both the 1xbet online casino House of Representatives and Senate will meet all day debating bills. The Legislature will adjourn for the weekend Thursday, March 29, and return for the final week for the 2018 regular session on Monday, April 2.

Also this week, on Tuesday, March 27, the top graduate students from the state universities will present their research on the second-floor rotunda of the State Capitol Building for Graduate Research Day.

The Office of Governmental Relations will host a 1xbet online casino Legislative Review Session from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 30, in the K-State Student Union's Bluemont Room. This session is open to all faculty, staff and students; feel free to bring a brown-bag lunch.
