German program to host 'Spotlighting Louise Brooks: From the 1xbet sports betting Prairie to the German Silver Screen' Feb. 24
The German program in the modern languages department will present "Spotlighting Louise Brooks: From the 1xbet sports betting Prairie to the German Silver Screen"from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Saturday, Feb. 24, in 109Justin Hall.
This event is free, open to all, and appropriate for all ages. Parking is available in the lot behind the building.
Throughout the day, participants will examine the unique role Louise Brooks, a silent film star and 1xbet sports betting native, had in shaping ideas about women's roles in society through her work in silent film, particularly in Weimar Germany, in the 1920s and 1930s.
The following is the event's schedule:
- 10-10:45: Welcome and presentation of silent student films.
- 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: "Diary of a Lost Girl" film screening with live accompaniment by Matthew De Gennaro and a reception with light hors d'oeuvres to follow.
- 1:30-2:15 p.m.: Moderated panel on Brooks' early life and 1xbet sports betting in the 1920s and 1930s.
- 2:30-4 p.m.: Talk and Q&A session with Richard McCormick, University of Minnesota.
