The K-State hazard communication program provides employees with the necessary information to protect their health and well-being from chemical hazards. The campuswide program has been updated to include the Globally Harmonized System of Chemical Classification and Labeling that was added in 2012.

"Exposure" or "exposed" under the HazCom standard means that an employee is subjected to a hazardous chemical in the course of employment through any route of entry — inhalation, ingestion, skin contact, or absorption — and includes potential — accidental or possible — exposure.

All hazardous communication training sessions are in 011 Edwards Hall and are scheduledfrom 2-3 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 11;3-4 p.m.Wednesday, Nov. 9;and 10-11 a.m.Thursday, Dec. 8.

There is no charge to participants, but registration is necessary to ensure adequate seating and materials. Participants my register throughHRIS Self_Enrollment or by sending an emailto Samantha Roberts at learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, please include your name, department, employee ID number, course title and the course number.
