McGeorge to present third Tony Jurich social justice lecture Sept. 22

Christi McGeorge, whose research focuses on the influence of heterosexism and homophobia in clinical practice and training, gender equity in therapy and higher education, and feminist theories, will present the third Tony Jurich Lecture on Social Justice at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in the 1xbet online casino Student Union's Little Theatre.

McGeorge, a professor of human development and 1xbet online casino science in the couple and 1xbet online casino therapy doctoral program at North Dakota State University,will present "The ethical and just treatment of LGB clients: beliefs and practices of 1xbet online casino therapists."

Her presentation will explore 1xbet online casino therapists' practices and beliefs as related to reparative therapy and referringlesbian, gay or bisexualclients based solely on their sexual orientation. McGeorge has data from a series of studies regarding these two ethical issues and how they are increasingly discussed among 1xbet online casino therapists and those faculty educating the next generation of therapists.

McGeorge is the current past chair for the National Council on 1xbet online casino Relations' 1xbet online casino Therapy Section and an elected member of the council's Inclusion and Diversity Committee. Additionally, she is a clinical fellow and approved supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and 1xbet online casino Therapy, and has twice served as the president of the association's North Dakota Division. McGeorge has authored more than 30 articles, three book chapters, several encyclopedia entries and book reviews.

This lecture is sponsored by the marriage and 1xbet online casino therapy program in the College of Human Ecology. The lecture series honors Tony Jurich, a professor who taught in the School of 1xbet online casino Studies and Human Services for more than 39 years before his death in 2010.
