Art and Math Seminar meetings resume

The mathematics department is resuming the online meetings of the interdisciplinary Art and Math Seminar. In fall 2024, the seminar will feature a math magic show, presentations on appearance of mathematics in books and movies, and lectures about the interaction of math and art history studies.

On Sept. 12, the first meeting of the seminar will feature "A little magic show" byProfessor Tadashi Tokieda from Stanford 1xbet sports betting . Tokieda grew up as a painter in Japan, became a classical philologist in France and now is known as an internationally acclaimed U.S.-based mathematician and popularizer of math and physics. His outreach activities extended to many projects, including teaching at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences and contributing videos to theNumberphile YouTube channel thatcollects millions of views.
Other meetings of the semester will include presentations from Ingrid Daubechies from Duke 1xbet sports betting on Oct. 3, Alex Kasman from College of Charleston on Oct. 15 and John Hatch from Western 1xbet sports betting , Canada, on Nov. 14.
