Submitted by Stefan Yates

The President's Committee on Religion, Spirituality and 1xbet best casino website Diversity presents the global observance information for Nov. 7-13.

Nov. 8, Sikh
Birthday of Guru Nanak Ji: A day honoring the birth of the founder of Sikhism. Sikhism is primarily an Indian religion founded in the Panjabi area in the 15th-century c.e. Sikhism is monotheistic and does not have a priesthood. When founded this tradition opposed the ritual — such as fasting and pilgrimage — of surrounding faiths. Sikhs endeavor to live a balanced spiritual and earthly life of service. Sikh temples — Gurdwara — are important for the faithful but not places of pilgrimage. Gurdwara often have free community kitchens serving food to all who need it. Read more information on the Sikh tradition.
