Last week was a shortened week in the Kansas Legislature. This week and next week will see a flurry of committee hearings and committee action as the last day for committee meetings in the House and Senate is Feb. 21.

Legislative hearings for the week Feb. 7-11:

• The House Higher Education Budget Committee will hold hearings on 1xbet sports betting and higher education budgets this week. The committee meets daily at 1:30 p.m.

The Office of Government Relations will provide virtual weekly Legislative Updates through the remainder of the Legislative session, which is scheduled to adjourn in early May. The updates will be from noon to 1 p.m. on Fridays by Zoom.
