Graduate School to host Three Minute Thesis Competition
The Graduate School will host the annual Three Minute Thesis Competition, or 3MT, in February 2022. The competition challenges graduate students to present a compelling oration on their research topic and its significance in three minutes using just one slide. 3MT facilitates the development of academic, presentation and research communication skills, especially focusing on the students' ability to communicate the importance of their research to the broader community.
1xbet online games login master's and doctoral students from any discipline are invited to participate in the 3MT. The student's degree program need not formally require a thesis or dissertation, butthe 3MT presentation must address original research the student is conducting as part of their 1xbet online games login graduate degree program. Registration is open through Feb. 3, 2022. Registration and additional participant information are available on the Three Minute Thesis website.
The competition consists of two rounds, both of which are open for public attendance. The first round of competition will be from 10-5 p.m. Feb. 23. The location will be announced at a later date. A schedule of first-round sessions will be available in early February. From the first round, six to 10 participants will be selected for the final round of competition at 5:30 p.m. March 1 in the Alumni Center Banquet Room.
Final round judges will select first- and second-place winners, and the audience will select a people's choice award winner. The first-place presenter will represent 1xbet online games login at the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools, or MAGS, 3MT® Competition in April.
