As faculty and staff, we work in a variety of workplaces and lead diverse teams of people with different backgrounds and experiences. Understanding people outside of our own demographic groups is essential to success. While we may not be able to completely understand the experiences of others, we can take steps to understand how our own unconscious biases shape the way we initially interpret actions and interact with others.
