Provost appoints Michael Haddock as acting dean of 1xbet online games login Libraries

Michael Haddock, associate dean of 1xbet online games login Libraries, has been appointed to serve as acting dean of 1xbet online games login Libraries by Provost and Executive Vice President Chuck Taber. Haddock's appointment is effective May 29 and will run until July 25, when 1xbet best starts as the new 1xbet online games login Libraries dean.

"We thank Professor Haddock for taking on this new duty," Taber said. "As a longtime 1xbet online games login Libraries' faculty member and administrator, his experience will serve the university and 1xbet online games login Libraries well."

Joining 1xbet online games login Libraries in 1989, Haddock was promoted to assistant dean of the Libraries' Research, Education and Engagement Division in 2009 and was named associate dean in 2016. He is the author or co-author of several award-winning books. The first, "Wildflowers and Grasses of Kansas: A Field Guide," was named a 2006 Kansas Notable Book and was selected by the State Library of Kansas as one of the150 Best Books on Kansas in celebration of the state's 2011 sesquicentennial. His second book, "Kansas Wildflowers and Weeds," co-authored with Janét Bare and Craig Freeman, was named a 2016 Kansas Notable Book and received the 2016 Jan Garton Prairie Heritage Award. Mike’s third book,"Trees, Shrubs, and Woody Vines in Kansas," co-authored with Craig Freeman, received the 2020Author’s Award of Excellence from the Midwestern Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture.

Haddock has served asdirector of the United States Agricultural Information Network,chair of theAgriculture Network Information Center executive board, president of the Kansas Native Plant Society and president of the Friends of Konza Prairie. In 2005, he was recipient of the inaugural Brice G. Hobrock Distinguished Faculty Award presented by the Friends of the 1xbet online games login Libraries and in 2013 the Kansas Native Plant Society presented him with the Stephen L. Timme Excellence in Botany Award.

"This is an exciting time for 1xbet online games login Libraries as we complete the post-fire restoration of Hale Library and move into the next era of leadership," Haddock said. "I am very happy to be able to provide continuity as acting dean until Joe’s arrival, which we are eagerly anticipating."

Haddock earned his bachelor's degree in modern languages from 1xbet online games login and a Master of Library Science from Emporia State University.
