Tendai Gadzikwa to present Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics seminar

Submitted by Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics

Tendai Gadzikwa, professor of chemistry at Kansas State University, is the featured speaker for the upcoming Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics seminar on Wednesday, March 4. She will present "Enzyme-Inspired Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) 1xbet online games login " at 4 p.m. in 120 Ackert Hall.

Abstract: A long-standing goal in the field of supramolecular chemistry is the construction of catalysts that more adequately mimic the active sites of enzyme, i.e catalysts whose active sites are (i) confined, (ii) highly functionalized, and (iii) flexible. To this end, our group has introduced metal-organic framework, or MOF, 1xbet online games login as scaffolds on which we can deliberately organize complex chemical functionality within confined, 3-dimensional space. MOF 1xbet online games login are porous, crystalline solids with pores of small-molecule dimensions, and whose cavity environments are highly tailorable. While the pores of MOF 1xbet online games login can be decorated with a wide variety of chemical functionality, the ability to uniformly multifunctionalize MOF 1xbet online games login remains a challenge. This presentation will describe strategies we have developed for the construction of uniformly multifunctionalized MOF 1xbet online games login , and our progress toward the synthesis of enzyme-inspired catalytic 1xbet online games login .
