First Friday is free monthly arts-infused social gathering that provides a variety of student performers of color a chance to share their work while attendees gather for conversation and refreshments.As part of Black History Month and MLK Observance Week, this Friday's First Friday will include an open mic for creative students who would like to speak or present a story, poem, or song about the message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. or how black history resonates on a personal, social, and/or cultural level.
After this event, at 7:30 p.m., the stage reading of"Stick Fly" by Lydia R. Diamond will be performed in the Purple Masque 1xbet sports betting . Admission to the reading is free, but reservations are encouraged.
"Stick Fly" is a dramatic comedy that tells the story of the LeVay family. The affluent African-American family is gathering at their Martha's Vineyard home for the weekend, and long-standing family tensions bubble under the surface and reach a boiling point when secrets are revealed.
