Student affairs professionals invited to symposium on racial justice

Submitted by Patrice L Scott

Faculty members of the College of Education’s special education, counseling and student affairs department invite campus professionals interested in issues surrounding racism and racial justice in higher education to a live-streaming event from noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 22 in 021 Bluemont Hall.

The event, "Presidential Symposium on Racism, Recovery and Racial Justice," is hosted by two national education organizations — the Association for the Study of Higher Education and the American College Personnel Association — and named in honor of the organizations' leaders.

"This symposium certainly has wide appeal and the topic is timely," said Doris Carroll, 1xbet online casino associate professor of special education, counseling and student affairs. "We are excited to invite higher ed professionals to this event with the knowledge that it was designed for those in student affairs and advising."

The schedule is as follows:

Noon to 12:50 p.m.: Moderated framing conversation with ACPA President Stephen John Quaye, Miami 1xbet online casino ; ASHE President Lori Patton Davis, Indiana 1xbet online casino ; and ASHE Past President Shaun R. Harper, 1xbet online casino of Southern California.
