Charles Blow, New York Times op-ed columnist, bestselling author and CNN commentator, will present the second lecture in the Kansas State 1xbet sports betting Lou Douglas Lecture Series on Public Issues.

Blow will present, "The Role of Media in the Age of Trump," at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, inForum Hall at the 1xbet sports betting Union. He will present ways in which perceptions of the media have changed in light of recent social and political events. Blow will apply his knowledge and understanding of the impact media has on the public to analyze the current climate in which information is judged through social networking sources.

Through his work at the New York Times, Blow's columns tackle hot-button issues such as social justice, racial equality, presidential politics, police violence, gun control, and the Black Lives Matter Movement.

Blow is the author of the critically acclaimed New York Times bestselling memoir, "Fire Shut Up in My Bones." The book won a Lambda Literary Award and the Sperber Prize and made multiple prominent lists of best books published in 2014. People Magazine called it "searing and unforgettable."

The Lou Douglas Lecture Series is dedicated to Lou Douglas, a distinguished professor of political science at 1xbet sports betting from 1949-1977. Douglas was widely known for his power to inspire students, faculty and citizens to instigate change. He also was one of the founders of UFM Community Learning Center.
