Diane L. Swanson, professor of management and the Edgerley family chair in the College of Business Administration, has published another book about corporate social responsibility leadership.

Recently released by Palgrave Macmillan/Springer, "CSR Discovery Leadership: Society, Science and Shared Value Consciousness"demonstrates that the potential for business organizations to provide their stakeholders with triple bottom line benefits depends largely on the mindset of the top executive. In this book, Swanson argues that the mindset needed for this kind of corporate social responsibility bears a strong resemblance to that of scientific discovery. Moreover, she makes the case that if executives were to embed this mentality in organizational decision-making, then shared consciousness between their firms and their stakeholders of the values that support corporate social responsibility would be feasible.

This book is a sequel to Swanson's 2014 book, also published by Palgrave Macmillan, titled"Embedding CSR into Corporate Culture: Challenging the Executive Mind," which was a Book Award finalist in a division of the Academy of Management in 2015.
