Undergraduate journal publishes second issue, invites campus participation

Crossing Borders: A Multidisciplinary Journal of Undergraduate Scholarshipannounces the publication of its second issue and encourages submissions for future issues.

Crossing Borders publishes contributions with a single area or multiple areas of focus. The journal is published by New Prairie Press, an online imprint of 1xbet online sports betting Libraries, and allows students to share their work with a wider community of scholars.

The first issue of the journal, published in 2015, has been downloaded more than 1,000 times by readers in 73 countries.

The second issue is now live at the journal's website and features contributions from three contributors:

• Megan Nelson (BS '14, economics with a minor in global and international studies, 1xbet online sports betting of Kansas), "A Case Study in Tipping: An Economic Anomaly."

• Jordan Thomas (BA '16, anthropology with a minor in political science, Kansas State 1xbet online sports betting ), "Cultivating Culture: Youth Food Movement in the Taos Pueblo Native American Community."

• Tiffani Lawrence (BA '18, secondary education with an English focus and dance, Kansas State 1xbet online sports betting ), "Behind the Stars."

Students interested in submitting full-length scholarly essays, book reviews, field notes, or exhibition reviews should visit the "Information for Authors" and "Author's Toolkit" for submission guidelines.

The editorial team hopes that faculty will encourage undergraduate students to submit successful essays for peer-reviewed publication. Independent undergraduate student research projects are also strong candidates for consideration.

Crossing Borders is a partnership between 1xbet online sports betting Libraries, the English department, the University Honors Program and Frontier, an interdisciplinary program involving undergraduate students at 1xbet online sports betting and a number of other universities. Additional sponsorship comes from the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies and the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry.

The journal's editors include faculty members Daniel Ireton, associate professor of Academic Services; Karin Westman, associate professor and department head of English; Keli Rylance, assistant professor and department head of 1xbet online sports betting Archives and Special Collections; and Justin Kastner, associate professor of diagnostic medicine and pathobiology.
