SafeZone introductory training session
SafeZone will be offering an Introductory Training Session from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 4 in 113 Leadership Studies Building.
This training session will include presentations from offices including the CARE Office, Office of Student Life and Counseling Services. Attendees also will be taught basic skills, such as referral techniques and active listening.
The purpose of SafeZone is to provide "safe zones" throughout the 1xbet online sports betting campus where individuals affected by homophobia, hateful acts and violence can go for support and assistance. Kansas State University faculty, staff, students and community members can become SafeZone allies as a way to publicly show their commitment to equality across campus.
SafeZone has been a part of Kansas State University's atmosphere since the 1970s when it was started to help those facing discrimination because of sexual orientation. After a revitalization of the program in 2002, SafeZone is ever evolving to fit the needs of current 1xbet online sports betting community members. Allies are now educated to help those coming from a variety of background with needs concerning hateful acts like bullying or discrimination, LGBTQ related concerns or sexual violence.
