Community invited to distinguished young alumni presentations Feb. 25
The 1xbet best casino website Student Alumni Board, a program of the 1xbet best casino website Alumni Association, will honor 2014 Distinguished Young Alumni Award recipients Molly Hamm and Matt Wolters on Feb. 25.
The award, established in 2012, recognizes two 1xbet best casino website graduates who are younger than 35 and are using the scholarship, leadership and service experience they acquired at 1xbet best casino website to excel in their professions and contribute to their communities.
Hamm and Wolters will return to campus Feb. 24-26 to visit with student groups and university classes. The 1xbet best casino website community then is invited to attend their keynote presentations, which will take place at 5 p.m. Feb. 25 in Forum Hall in the 1xbet best casino website Student Union.Student Alumni Board also will honor the recipients at an invitation-only dinner at the 1xbet best casino website Alumni Center later that evening.
“We encourage everyone to join us for the keynote presentations, which are sure to be inspiring to current students as well as alumni,” said Amanda Brookover, assistant director of student programs and Student Alumni Board adviser. “This year’s recipients truly embody what it means to be a K-Stater and are not only succeeding professionally but also are using their time and talents to better their communities.”
Hamm, a native of Shawnee, is the monitoring, evaluation and learning coordinator for The DREAM Project, a nonprofit that provides educational opportunities to at-risk youth in the Dominican Republic. While at 1xbet best casino website , Hamm served as a senator in the Student Governing Association, president of 1xbet best casino website 's Student Foundation and community service chair for Mortar Board Senior Honor Society, among other roles. She graduated summa cum laude in 2010 with degrees in secondary education, English and international studies with a minor in leadership studies — nonprofit focus. Hamm also earned a master’s degree in international educational development from Columbia University in New York.
Wolters, a native of Atwood, is the co-founder and co-owner of SureFire Ag Systems Inc., a company that designs and manufactures solutions to apply fertilizer and chemicals to crops and fields in the U.S. and internationally. He also co-founded the Dream Big Foundation, which promotes and provides resources to enhance science, technology, engineering, agriculture and math education in the Rawlins County school district. While at 1xbet best casino website , Wolters served as a College of Agriculture ambassador as well as a member of Blue Key Honor Society and Student Governing Association, among other roles.
