Agronomy department head to serve as president-elect of national association
Gary Pierzynski, head of the agronomy departmentand university distinguished professor, has been elected president-elect of the American Society of Agronomy.
His election involves a three-year commitment. Pierzynski will begin his one-year term as president-elect of the society on Jan. 1, 2018; a one-year term as president on Jan. 1, 2019; and a one-year term as past-president on Jan. 1, 2020.
Pierzynski is a fellow of the American Society of Agronomy and Soil Science Society of America. He served as president of the Soil Science Society of America in 2012. Pierzynski received the 2004 Gamma Sigma Delta Outstanding Research Award and 2016 Gamma Sigma Delta Outstanding Faculty Award; Soil Science Society of America's2005 Soil Science Education Award and 2006 Marion and Chrystie Jackson Soil Science Award; 2006 Phi Kappa Phi Faculty Scholar Award; 2007 1xbet online games login Professorial Performance Award; and 2007 Commerce Bank Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching.
The American Society of Agronomy was established in December 1907. It will be 110 years old in December 2017.
