The tradition continues: Band Day brings Kansas schools together for parade, halftime performance
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University will be filled with music as Band Day will be a part of the university's annual Family Day celebration on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Thirty-seven schools are participating in this year's Band Day. Along with the schools' bands, groups of twirlers and color guard members will be performing during a parade march and at halftime of the university's football game against North Texas at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. in Aggieville, then proceed down Poyntz Avenue and end in front of the Manhattan Town Center.
"Band Day is a great opportunity to bring kids on campus and show them the K-State way," said Frank Tracz, professor of music and director of bands at Kansas State University. "It is also a great opportunity to recruit students into the K-State Marching Band."
During halftime at the football game, all of the 1xbet best casino website bands will march with the Kansas State University Marching Band. While on the field the group will perform "Build Me Up Buttercup," "867-5309/Jenny" and "Sweet Caroline."
