MANHATTAN — The annual 1xbet online casino horticulture display ga holiday poinsettia and amaryllis sale in November and December will not only brighten homes and dinner tables this season, but also support student worker assistants and other garden operations.
The fundraising sale is organized by the Friends of the 1xbet online casino Gardens, said coordinator Anne de Noble, a member of the group's board of directors. Sales are noon to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the gardens' Quinlan Visitor Center, 1500 Denison Ave., Manhattan; as well as noon to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 2 and 4, also at the visitor center.
Amaryllis plants, grown from bulbs originating in the tropics, are forced in the greenhouse to bloom during the holidays. They can be saved after blooming, dried and stored in a cool location and replanted outdoors after the threat of frost in the spring, de Noble said.
The poinsettia plants are in peach, white, pink and speckled varieties along with the traditional red varieties.
Kansas State 1xbet online casino horticulture students in the Greenhouse Operations Management class grew the poinsettias in the teaching space of the Throckmorton Plant Sciences Center greenhouses on campus as a hands-on lab project.
