Senior leaders: New mortar board members named for 2012-2013

MANHATTAN -- Exemplary service, scholarship and leadership have earned 30 Kansas State University students selection to Mortar Board, a national college senior honor society.

Along with demonstrated excellence in service and leadership, candidates for Mortar Board must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Providing service to the campus, community and the state of Kansas is a Mortar Board focus. Past Mortar Board service projects have included creating an advice booklet for incoming freshman students and participating in the honor society's national theme, Reading is Leading, by raising funds for the First Book program to buy books for children in need at local schools and day care facilities.
