RULING THE AIRWAVES: MEDIA FESTIVAL RECOGNIZES FIVE MASS COMMUNICATIONS STUDENTS

MANHATTAN -- Five Kansas State University journalism and mass communications students are being recognized for their on-air talents at the Broadcast Education Association's 2011 Festival of Media Arts.

The festival is an international exhibition of award-winning faculty and student works chosen in audio, documentary, interactive multimedia, two-year/small colleges, 1xbet sports betting , scriptwriting, sports and video competitions. This year's festival is April 11 in Las Vegas. The event -- sponsored by the Charles and Lucille King Family Foundation, Avid and Sony -- is part of the annual Broadcast Educators Association's annual convention.

1xbet sports betting students earning honors from the festival include: Lucas Wempe, senior in electronic journalism, Lawrence; Brent Pinkall, December 2010 bachelor's graduate in electronic journalism, Manhattan; John Kurtz, senior in electronic journalism, Overland Park; Emily McIntosh, senior in electronic journalism, Pratt; and Paul Harris, senior in digital journalism-electronic, Indianapolis, Ind.

Wempe, Kurtz and Harris earned honorable mention in the specialty audio program category for "3ManWeave," which aired on 1xbet sports betting 's student radio station, The Wildcat 91.9.

Pinkall received honorable mention in the television feature news reporting category for his story on Mark Haub's junk food diet.
