College of Arts and Sciences dean selected as American Chemical Society fellow

MANHATTAN -- Peter Dorhout, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of chemistry at Kansas State 1xbet online casino , has been selected as a 2013 American Chemical Society fellow and will be recognized at the society's upcoming fall national meeting in Indianapolis.

Dorhout was recognized for his leadership of the College of Arts and Sciences at Kansas State 1xbet online casino , the Graduate School at Colorado State 1xbet online casino , his leadership in solid-state chemistry and his contributions to the American Chemical Society.

Dorhout earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the 1xbet online casino of Illinois at Urbana, Champaign and a doctorate in inorganic chemistry from the 1xbet online casino of Wisconsin, Madison. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Ames Laboratory at Iowa State 1xbet online casino and a research collaborator with Los Alamos National Laboratory. His research specialties include thin film materials, environmental chemistry, and actinide and radiochemistry.

He also has received the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, American Chemical Society Exxon-Mobil Young Faculty Award for Materials Chemistry and was named an A.P. Sloan fellow. He has written more than 110 peer-reviewed articles, edited books and book chapters.
