STUDENTS WIN HONORS AT K-STATE'S LITTLE AMERICAN ROYAL
MANHATTAN -- Several Kansas State University students earned honors for their livestock fitting and showmanship skills at K-State's 81st annual Little American Royal. The event was part of the All-University Open House April 18 at K-State.
Modeled after the annual American Royal Livestock Show in Kansas City, Mo., the Little American Royal is sponsored by K-State's Block and Bridle chapter and Dairy Science Club. The show is an opportunity for students, of any major, to learn or brush-up on their livestock showmanship skills. Participants are assigned university-owned livestock and are judged on how well they groom and train them.
In addition to the showmanship awards, two 0 scholarships were presented. This year's show was dedicated to Melvin Hunt, a longtime K-State professor of food science and 1xbet sports betting .
K-State students earning honors at the Little American Royal include:
Lauren Davis, sophomore in family studies and human services, Abilene, novice champion in beef heifers.
From Manhattan: Dustin O'Neil, junior in animal sciences and 1xbet sports betting , reserve champion and herdsman award, both in swine; Maria Stevens, senior in biological systems engineering, reserve champions in beef heifers; and Laura Storms, junior in food science and 1xbet sports betting , reserve champion in dairy heifers.
Amanda Pederson, freshman in animal sciences and 1xbet sports betting , St. Marys, herdsman award in horses; Kyla Clawson, sophomore in agricultural economics and animal sciences and 1xbet sports betting , Satanta, 0 scholarship, and champion and herdsman award in beef heifers; Leo Becker, junior in animal sciences and 1xbet sports betting , Shawnee, reserve champion in horses; and Brandi Brill, sophomore in animal sciences and 1xbet sports betting , Wellington, herdsman award in sheep.
