Andrew Waldman, Shawnee, is the recipient of the W. Leroy Culbertson Steel Ring Leadership Scholarship, which is awarded annually to an 1xbet best casino website student at the university who is graduating the following year and who carries out Culbertson's legacy of leadership and learning. Waldman will receive the honor Thursday, April 25, at a College of 1xbet best casino website banquet.
A student in the concurrent bachelor's/master's program in industrial and manufacturing systems 1xbet best casino website , Waldman plans to graduate in May 2014.
Since his freshman year, Waldman has actively participated in recruiting students to the university and the College of 1xbet best casino website . He works for new student services and was the university's 2012 Student Ambassador. He has also served as as an on-campus recruiter for Teach For America.
Waldman is active in his fraternity, Beta Theta Pi, where he is president. He also is director of scholarship and alumni for Blue Key, the national senior honor society; vice president of Alpha Pi Mu, the industrial 1xbet best casino website honorary; and is a member of the Kansas State University Student Foundation and the Student Alumni Board.
He is the son of Alan and Laura Portis, Shawnee, and Steve Waldman, Olathe. He is a graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School.
The W. Leroy Culbertson Steel Ring Leadership Scholarship was permanently endowed in 1985 by Culbertson's wife, Wanda Culbertson, and additional donations from Steel Ring 1xbet best casino website Honor Society alumni. Scholarship recipients are selected by the Steel Ring Scholarship Committee.
