MANHATTAN — Two architectural engineering students at Kansas State University received scholarships from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, or ASHRAE, for the 2024-25 school year.
Haylee Nicholas, senior in architectural engineering, Andale, and Hannah McCormick, junior in architectural engineering, Overland Park, each received society-level awards from ASHRAE. Nicholas secured the organization's top prize, the President's Award, a ,500 scholarship distributed over two years. McCormick earned a ,000 scholarship.
"We appreciate that ASHRAE is willing to invest in our students who have shown an interest in the building design and construction industry," said Julia Keen, Bob and Betty Tointon engineering chair and professor in the GE Johnson Department of Architectural Engineering and Construction Science.
