Two alumni join Kansas State 1xbet online games login College of Engineering Hall of Fame

MANHATTAN—The Kansas State 1xbet online games login College of Engineering Hall of Fame will induct two new members on April 21.

Induction to the hall is the highest honor bestowed on its alumni by the college. The honorees will be recognized for their professional success and accomplishment, involvement with and support of the College of Engineering, dedication to Kansas State 1xbet online games login , and professional and public service.

The following are members of the class of 2018:

Doug R. Sterbenz, Topeka, is a 1985 graduate of Kansas State 1xbet online games login in mechanical engineering. He also has a master's degree in business administration from the 1xbet online games login of Texas, Tyler. He retired from Westar Energy after a 30-year career in the electric utility industry, and now spends his working time speaking professionally, coaching executives and writing. He is often invited to speak on leadership and safety to people in many industries and business levels from the shop floor to the executive suite. Sterbenz currently serves on the board of directors for the Topeka Community Foundation and is a graduate of Leadership Topeka and Leadership Kansas. He has also served on numerous other boards.

Alan L. Sylvester, Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a 1975 graduate of Kansas State 1xbet online games login in civil engineering. He also has a master's degree in engineering management from the 1xbet online games login of Tulsa and is a graduate of various executive management programs at Northwestern 1xbet online games login and Harvard 1xbet online games login . He is a retired registered professional engineer in the state of Oklahoma. Sylvester retired from CITGO Petroleum Co. in 2006 after 30 years of service as president of its pipeline investment company and general manager of non-refining operations. In this capacity, he was responsible for all assets downstream of CITGO's multiple refinery system, including pipelines, terminals, lubricant supply and manufacturing, technology, rail/truck transportation and engineering. He had a variety of engineering and management positions with CITGO and other petroleum industry firms, and has also served on the board of directors for several companies. Sylvester currently owns and is president of GenerAction LLC, a private consulting company for the petroleum industry. In 2003, was named Alumni Fellow by the College of Engineering at Kansas State 1xbet online games login .
