Audience: New administrator, department head, or Student Life staff member
Session Description: Any new administrator, department head, or student life staff member who may be asked to serve as member on the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) or Threat Management Team should attend this training. The training includes information about CIRT and Threat Management policies, procedures and guidelines, as well as information on the Threat Management Policy, the Standards and Procedures for Voluntary or Involuntary Withdrawal from the University for Seriously Disruptive Behaviors Policy, the K-State Emergency Management Plan, and the Student Code of Conduct. A tabletop exercise of a CIRT situation will also be conducted.
Session Objectives: As a result of this session, participants will:
- Understand the CIRT process
- Recognize the policies and procedures related to the Threat Management Policy and the CIRT Policy
- Discuss responsibilities for reporting and sharing information about serious or threatening behaviors
- Participate in a tabletop exercise of a CIRT situation
